Welcome to Ballet Theatre School

Classes Begin September 8th

Thank you for choosing Ballet Theatre School for your child’s dance education. Since so many schools are available, we truly feel honored that you chose us to guide your child’s training. We are excited to partner with you and look forward to working together throughout the school year.

As your child grows in dance, discipline plays an essential role in their education. While we want every student to enjoy their dance experience, we also expect them to show respect for their teachers, classmates, and the rules of the school. By combining joy with discipline, students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed both in and out of the studio.

To keep you informed, we send a monthly newsletter with updates on events and important announcements at BTS. In addition, if you ever have questions or need more information, please call the studio directly, and our staff will gladly assist you.

Once again, thank you for trusting Ballet Theatre School with your child’s dance journey. We look forward to a rewarding year together.

  • If taking more than one class in a day and one of those classes is baller, hair must remain in a bun for all classes

We always welcome parents to observe classes at the studio. However, we ask that you watch from the observation windows in the lobby rather than entering the dance studios. Too many adults in the classroom during instruction can confuse the students, especially the younger ones. If your child cannot comfortably separate from you during their class time, we recommend waiting until next year to enroll in dance classes.

If you need to speak with a teacher, please schedule a conference outside of regular class hours. Teachers have very limited time between classes, and thoughtful conversations about a student work best when the teacher is not rushed and no other students are present. By setting aside the proper time, we ensure that every discussion remains focused and productive.

PLEASE DO NOT OBSERVE CLASS FROM THE OFFICE

For the safety of every child, we do not allow students to wait outside the building for parent pickup. Instead, all students must remain in the lobby until their parents arrive in the parking lot. Younger children will stay in the dance room after class if a parent is not yet present.

If your child will ride home with someone other than a parent, please notify the teacher in advance. To help us keep classes running smoothly, drop students off no earlier than 15 minutes before their first class. Teachers cannot provide childcare before or after class time.

For added security, we keep the front door locked until 30 minutes before the first class each day. These procedures help us maintain a safe and organized environment for all students and families.

Please park your car in the parking spaces provided...do not park at the end of the sidewalk or parallel to the lot next door. This causes severe traffic jams.
  • Loud voices can be heard in the studios. Please do not tap or knock on the observation windows during class.
  • Siblings should remain in the lobby with waiting parents.
  • Do not open the studio doors when class is in session.
  • Please do not answer the telephone.
  • Clean up after yourself and your children.
  • Do not enter the office, sewing room, or storage room unless a studio representative is present.
  • Do not stand on furniture or window sills.
  • Do not swing on the glass doors.
  • Absolutely no gum or colored drinks are allowed in the building.
  • Fall Break - October 5 - 9
  • Thanksgiving - November 23 - 27
  • Christmas - December 21 - January 1
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - January 18
  • Mardi Gras - February 8 - 10

Studio Closings

If a teacher needs to miss a class due to injury or illness, every attempt will be made to find a substitute for class. In extreme emergencies or inclement weather, the studio may have to close. Messages are routinely left on the studio answering machine in this event. Please check the messages any time you are unsure of holidays, studio closings, or special events.
